団体リトリート · Group Retreat & Tour

We open the whole farm to your group — fields, factory, farmhouse and tea.

Yusando is a small natural-cultivation tea farm in Tsuge, in the Yamato Highlands of Nara — no pesticides, no fertiliser, since 2015. For groups we offer the whole of it: walking and working the tea fields, tasting naturally grown tea, lunch at the farmhouse, and the natural way of tea in a traditional kominka. Programmes are shaped around your purpose: team building, wellness, study, or simply slowing down together.

Three plans

Each holds the essentials; each goes a step deeper. Pricing is arranged for each group.

What your group will learn

What we hope you carry home.

Natural cultivation

Its beauty, its practice, and its theory — how tea grows without pesticides or fertiliser, learned in the field from the people who do it.

The old farmhouse

Life in a traditional Japanese kominka — its rooms, its garden, its hearth — and, for overnight groups, a night under its beams.

Natural tea ceremony

Our own way of tea, drawn from Laozi and the spirit of acting without forcing. A bowl shared, without formality for its own sake.

Matcha, field to bowl

How matcha is grown, shaded, steamed, dried and stone-milled — the whole path from a living leaf to the bowl in your hands.

An international team

How a small farm in rural Nara works with people from around the world — what an international team looks like in a traditional craft.

Made for your purpose

Team building, wellness, study tours, creative retreats — tell us what your group is for, and we shape the days around it.

Pricing, plainly.

Every group is different, so we quote each one individually — by group size, season, and programme. Send us your dates and hopes through the form below, and we reply within 2–3 business days with a quote and availability.

Meeting point — Yusando Natural Tea, 920 Tsuge-Hakusancho, Nara-shi, Nara (Google Maps). For groups we recommend a chartered bus; if public transport won't work for you, tell us in advance and we'll think it through together.

Travelling alone or as a pair? Our Tea Tour runs for individual visitors — and if your people want to go deeper, the Tea Apprenticeship is the longer path.
